Southern California Native Plant Nursery - Las Pilitas

New to native plant gardening or landscaping? If you've been reading about natives, you're probably very confused and frustrated. But when you see how it's done -- everything is much simpler. Take a tour of a nursery with the atmosphere of an old style farm with some demonstration plantings.

Las Pilitas' nursery setting is in a fragment of San Diego County featuring native plants and wildlife. They stock San Diego, Orange and Riverside County species.

One easy approach is planting a bird and butterfly garden. Las Pilitas stocks over 20 types of Salvia (sage) to attract and nurture birds and butterflies.

The few acres of nursery grounds are in a native setting of 21 acres, with a growing demonstration garden. Your visit will be pleasant as well as educational as you learn about San Diego native plants that grow alongside nursery plants.

The nursery is located in San Diego County about a half mile south of the I-15 off of Old 395 at 8331 Nelson Way, Escondido, 92026.
